Powerful Communication Podcast

Jul 6, 2020

I've seen some good people end up very upset recently because they've had an unpleasant experience discussing important, topical issues on Twitter.

Having used Twitter since its very early days, I'm firmly of the opinion that it's not a channel you should use if you are expecting a well mannered reasonable discussion with someone.  It simply wasn't built for that.

In this episode I explore why and offer some advice relating to what you could do instead. Twitter offers us easy reach or 'cheap heat' - if you've something of substance to say, you might need to sacrifice some of that reach, in favour of an audience that's genuinely interested in what you have to say, rather than simply ramming their own point of view down your throat.
